Love Makoto

The Best of Japan in the Heart of DC

NOW OPEN

The long awaited Love Makoto has open its doors. Phase one includes Dear Sushi, a formal omakase-style dining experience serving a pre-fixed menu of sushi; Beloved BBQ, a yakiniku or Japanese steakhouse; Hiya Izakaya, a first come first serve bar offering smalls bites on skewers.

Phase two of the restaurant is now open! Love Makoto’s fast-casual section – dubbed Love on the Run – is now serving a limited version of its full menu, including ramen, sushi rolls, fried chicken sandwiches and salads.

You can now order your found on the touch-screens kiosks or through this ordering link ahead of time. Concierge will be on hand to help guests with any questions or technical issues.

New menu at Beloved BBQ
In response to feedback from our guests that they’d like more flexibility when ordering at Beloved BBQ, we’ve tweaked the omakase experience to serve American-raised Prime cuts alongside A5 Japanese Wagyu—rather than having diners choose one or the other. For those who prefer to build their own experience, there is now a selection of a la carte options listed under “Today’s Cuts”; a seafood section that includes a Maine lobster tail and Hokkaido scallops; a “For the Table” section featuring a new udon mac and cheese as well as some of the more popular dishes from the original menu—A5 Wagyu fried rice, crab salad stuffed into an avocado half with smoked trout roe, and A5 Wagyu sushi; and a new “Veggies” section featuring favorites like the mochi potato and Tokyo slaw alongside newcomers like shiitake mushrooms with shiso pesto and veggie ishiyaki with rice and a soft egg. You can find the updated menu here

Happy Hour at Hiya Izakaya
